About Department

 Department aims to be a centre for excellence by acting as a facilitator for knowledge generation and dissemination to produce biologists through rigorous theoretical and experimental training.  The department has been updated with latest equipment available to facilitate the students to have more exposure in research and technical field. We are also encouraging the students in the field the research out of their prescribed syllabus pattern.

In the previous academic years we, offered nine live project works to the undergraduates (first time in university affiliated degree colleges), and they published in FIVE international journals. We are also encouraging the students to participate in the seminars at national and international level.

Achievements of Our departments:

• 2015 Academic year our student Kumari SULTAN SWETHA awarded by Prathiba Award by the Government of Andhrapradesh
• During 2016-2017 academic our students Kumari GOGISETTY PRANATHI AND MUNNANGI RATHNA SREE achieved junior scientist award on the stage of International Conference  on “Environmental Conservation and Human health-Challenges and Strategies” organized by Department of Zoology, Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati.
• Every year we are supporting the students to continue their education in prestigious institutions like Central universities, and other national institutions.

D. in Biotechnology (March-2014- Till Date) on “Pharmacological evaluation and characterization of anti-inflammatory, anti venom and anti-rheumatoid arthritis activity of selected medicinal plants” under the guidance of  Dr. A. Krishna Satya at Dept. of Biotechnology, Acharya Nagarjuna University, Guntur (A.P.).
• Qualified State Level Eligibility Test in Life Science for Asst.Professor/Lectureship – Andhrapradesh  (APSLET-2012)
